Air Marshal VR Chaudhari appointed next IAF Chief

Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari will take charge as the next chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF) after the retirement of RKS Bhadauria on September 30.

In his decades-long career, Air Marshal Chaudhari was awarded Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Vayu Sena Medal. He was commissioned into the Fighter stream of IAF on December 29, 1982.

Ever since the UN declared 23rd September as the International Sign Language Day, ISLRTC has celebrated it every year. ISLRTC signed an MoU with National Council of Educational Research &Training (NCERT) for converting NCERT textbooks from Class I to XII into Indian Sign Language (digital format) to make the textbooks accessible to children with hearing disabilities

NEC iris recognition technology ranks first in NIST accuracy testing

NEC announced that its iris recognition technology ranked first in the world in the most recent iris recognition technology benchmark test, IREX 10, conducted by U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Sony comes to Zee Entertainment’s rescue, signs term sheet for merger

53% of the merged entity would be owned by Sony India shareholders and the rest by Zee’s holders.

Majority of the board will be nominated by Sony. The deal provides an exclusive negotiation period of 90 days during which Zee and Sony will conduct mutual diligence and negotiate definitive, binding agreements. Zee CEO Punit Goenka will lead the entity.

WHO Releases Stricter, Updated Air Quality Guidelines After 16 Years

WHO released their revised Air Quality Guidelines for the first time after 16 years. The recommended annual standard of PM2.5 concentration has been decreased from 10 µg/m3 to 5 µg/m3, while the daily standard has dipped from 25 µg/m3 to 15 µg/m3, suggesting a stricter monitoring of air pollution levels across the globe.

Ex-Arunachal Guv & former Delhi top cop YS Dadwal passes away

Former Delhi Police Commissioner YS Dadwal has died. The 1974-batch IPS officer became the Delhi Police Commissioner in 2007 and was transferred to Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) as its Director General in 2010.

After retiring from the services, he was also appointed as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh in 2016.
