Amit Shah addresses first National Cooperative Conference

The maiden National Cooperative Conference (Sehkarita Sammelan) was held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in the national capital. Amit Shah outlined the government’s vision and roadmap for the development of this sector.

Conference was organised by cooperative bodies IFFCO, National Cooperative Federation of India, Amul, Sahakar Bharti, NAFED and KRIBHCO, among others

MoU signed between Zoological Survey of India and the Natural History Museum of United Kingdom

MoU is for implementing relevant national and regional laws and regulations concerning biodiversity, including laws relating to access to faunal specimens, associated benefit sharing and traditional knowledge.

Both the institutions are committed to implementing the 1973 CITES and the 1992 Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

Rising CO2 concentration threatens all 17 SDGs, says World Meteorological Organization (WMO) report

The WMO studied seven climate indicators — CO2 concentration, temperature, ocean acidification and heat, sea ice extent, glacier melt and sea-level rise, while preparing the report.

The organisation’s scientists found that rising CO2 concentration due to human activities was a key driver of global climate change.

I&B Minister Anurag Singh Thakur Launches India's Highest Altitude TV, Radio Transmitters In Ladakh

Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur launched the high power transmitters of Doordarshan and All India Radio at Hamboting La near Kargil in Ladakh.

The 10 kilowatt (KW) transmitters are the highest altitude TV and Radio transmitters in the country, located at the height of 4054 metre (about 13,300 ft) above the mean sea level.

Govt seals Rs 22,000 crore deal with Tata, Airbus for purchase of 56 C-295 military transport aircraft

The Ministry of Defence signed an estimated ₹22,000-crore deal with Airbus Defence and Space S.A., Spain, for 56 C-295MW transport aircraft to replace the Indian Air Force’s ageing 56 Avro aircraft that were procured in the 1960s.

This is the first project of its kind in which a military aircraft will be manufactured in India under technology transfer by the private sector

Digital airspace map for drone operations released, demarcates zones for flying

Ministry of Civil Aviation has released an interactive digital airspace map for flying drone. The map demarcates green, yellow and red zones across the country for the purpose of drones operations.

Green zone consists of the airspace up to 400 feet.In green zones, no permission whatsoever is required for operating drones with an all-up weight upto 500 kg.
