Department of Posts celebrates Philately Day as part of National Postal Week and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations

To make the Philately Day and National Postal Week, 2021 memorable, 103 special covers on Unsung Heroes of India were issued by 22 Postal Circles, spread across the length and breadth of the country. The release events were organized at the birth place of the unsung heroes, ensuring Jan Bhagidari etc.

Green Grids Initiative-One Sun One World One Grid Northwest Europe Cooperative Event

One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) initiative was put forth by Narendra Modi, at the 1st Assembly of International Solar Alliance (ISA) in 2018. In 2021, UK and India agreed to combine forces of the Green Grids Initiative and the One Sun One World One Grid initiative and jointly launch GGI-OSOWOG at the COP26 summit being hosted by the UK at Glasgow in November 2021

Giriraj Singh launches Climate Resilience Information System and Planning CRISP-M tool

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister launched CRISP-M tool for integration of climate information in Geographic Information System, GIS-based watershed planning under MNREGA. This tool will be used in seven states namely: Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Rajasthan.

INS Ranvijay, INS Satpura participate in Multilateral Maritime Ex Malabar Phase II in Bay of Bengal

INS Ranvijay (D55) and INS Satpura (F48) are participating in Multilateral Maritime Ex Malabar Phase II in Bay of Bengal. The Exercise has the participation of nine ships. The Second Phase of the exercise is focusing on advanced surface and anti-submarine warfare exercises, seamanship evolution and weapon firings.

CCEA approves fixation of nutrient based subsidy rates for Phosphatic & Potassic fertilizers for year 2022

Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved proposal of Department of Fertilizers for fixation of Nutrient Based Subsidy Rates for Phosphatic & Potassic fertilisers (P&K) for year 2021-22. Approved rate for Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) for Nitrogen has been fixed at 18.789 rs/kg, for Phosphorus 45.323 rs/kg, for Potash 10.116 rs/kg & 2.374 rs/kg for Sulphur.

India cuts import duty on cooking oils; September imports of palm oil are highest single month imports in 25 years

The central government has reduced the import duty on crude and refined palm oil, soybean oil and sunflower oil between 16.5 % to 19.25% from October 14 upto March 31, 2022. Meanwhile, The impact of the duty reduction on crude palm oil is about Rs.14,000/- while on crude soyabean oil and crude sunflower seed oil is about Rs.20,000/- per tonne.

Govt launches third tranche of commercial coal auctions with 88 mines

Union coal ministry is offering 88 mines with geological reserves of 55 billion tonne and annual peak rated capacity of 282 million tonne in the auction. 48 coal mines in the list are “roll over” mines which could not find bidders in the previous two rounds of auctions. 57 of these mines are fully explored mines and the rest are partially explored

Salman Khan to launch NFTs with BollyCoin, takes blockchain plunge after Amitabh Bachchan

Tamil Nadu CM M.K Stalin launches scheme to melt temple jewellery

Tamil Nadu CM launched preliminary work to melt into 24 carat gold bars, the unutilised jewellery in possession of temples in the State. Gold ornaments lying unutilised at 3 renowned temples of Sri Karumariamman temple in Tiruverkadu, Sri Mariamman temple in Samayapuram and Sri Mariamman temple at Irukkankudi, will be melted and converted into gold bars for monetisation.

Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of S&T, GoI supported a mega consortium on ‘One Health’. Dr. Renu Swarup, Secretary, D/o Biotechnology, Govt. of launched 1st ‘One Health’ project. This programme envisages carrying out surveillance of important bacterial, viral and parasitic infections of zoonotic as well as trans-boundary pathogens in India.

Indian Army Contingent Departs for 17th Edition of Indo-US Joint Military Exercise “Ex Yudh Abhyas 2021”

YudhAbhyas is largest running joint military training and defense cooperation endeavor between India & USA. This will be 17th Edition of joint exercise which is hosted alternately between both countries. The previous version of this was held at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Bikaner, Rajasthan in February 2021.
