Dorsey steps down, Indian-origin Parag Agrawal takes over as new Twitter CEO

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey stepped down as CEO, and announced that Indian American Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s current chief technology officer, will be taking his place with immediate effect.

Dorsey founded the company in 2006, and posted the platform’s first tweet on March 6. The company went public in 2013, five years after he was ousted 2008.

Govt. appoints Senior Bureaucrat, Vivek Johri as the Chairman of CBIC

The government has appointed senior bureaucrat Vivek Johri as the Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).

Johri, a 1985-batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) officer, is currently working as a member of the board.

His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

In the technology category, Amazon is followed by Zomato, Google-backed YouTube, Swiggy,& Walmart-backed Flipkart.

Indian squash player Saurav Ghosal won his first PSA title in three years when he triumphed at the Malaysian Open with a straight-set win over top seed Miguel Rodriguez in Kuala Lumpur.

Second seed and ranked 15th in the world, Ghosal defeated Rodriguez 11-7 11-8 13-11 in 55 minutes to win his 10th PSA title.

Spacetech start-up Skyroot Aerospace announced last week that it has successfully tested Dhawan-1, India’s first privately developed fully cryogenic rocket engine.Named in honour of Indian rocket scientist Satish Dhawan, the rocket successfully demonstrates the technology that will power the upper stages of its upcoming Vikram-2 orbital launch vehicle.

Ramkumar Ramanathan clinches maiden singles title on ATP Challenger Tour

Indian tennis player Ramkumar Ramanathan won his maiden singles title at the ATP Challenger tournament in Manama, Bahrain.

Ramkumar, seeded sixth and ranked 222 in the world.

He defeated Evgeny Karlovskiy of the Russian Tennis Federation in the final by 6-1, 6-4 in 68 minutes. The unseeded Russian, Evgeny Karlovskiy, ranked 302 in the world.

LIC gets RBI approval to raise stake in Kotak Mahindra Bank

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to increase its stake in the Kotak Mahindra Bank.

The approval is to raise LIC's stake in the bank up to 9.99 percent from the current 4.96 percent it has in the private lender.

The approval of the central bank will be valid for one year.
