Himachal Pradesh becomes first state in country to vaccinate its entire eligible population

Himachal Pradesh has become the first state to fully vaccinate 100 per cent of its adult population against COVID-19. As many as 53,86,393 eligible adults have been administered the second dose, he said, adding Himachal Pradesh was also the first state to achieve the 100 per cent first dose vaccination of adult population by the end of August.

Veteran journalist Vinod Dua passes away at 67

Veteran journalist Vinod Dua passed away recently. He was 67. His daughter Dua confirmed it on a social media post. Vinod Dua, one of the pioneers in Hindi broadcast journalism, worked with Doordarshan to present youth programme Yuva Manch in the mid-'70s and later with several other television news channels. He was awarded Padma Shri in 2008.

Indian hockey teams to compete in 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, says CWG Federation

India has reversed its decision to pull out its hockey teams from next year’s Birmingham Commonwealth Games and will compete in the multi-sport quadrennial event “if they qualify”, as per Commonwealth Games Federation.

The Birmingham CWG is scheduled to be held from July 28 to August 8 next year while the Asian Games are starting on September 10

AgNext, Nafed tie-up to digitise quality assessment of Arunachal organic kiwis

AgNext Technologies has partnered with NAFED to digitise quality assessment for organic kiwis grown in Arunachal Pradesh. The Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board had launched the organic kiwis in New Delhi along with NAFED as a marketing partner under the ‘One district, One Product’ scheme.

AgNext will be using artificial intelligence-based technology.

Tata Power bags India's largest solar and battery project worth Rs 945 crore from Solar Energy Corp

Tata Power Company said that its wholly owned subsidiary Tata Power Solar Systems has received Letter of Award (LoA) from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

After the contract, the utility scale EPC order book of Tata Power Solar now stands at around 4.4 GW (DC) capacity with an approximate value of Rs 9,000 crore without GST.

India's GDP to grow 9.1% in 2022: Goldman Sachs

Wall Street brokerage Goldman Sachs has estimated India's GDP growth at 9.1 percent in 2022.

After India's economy contracted by a sharp 7 percent in 2020, Goldman Sachs pegged the economy to grow at 8 percent in 2021 and 9.1 percent in 2022.

It earlier estimated India's economic growth to 11.1 percent in fiscal year to March 31, 2022.
