BWF World Championships 2021 Final : Kidambi Srikanth bags historic silver, goes down fighting to Loh Kean Yew

India's shuttler Kidambi Srikanth scripted history, as he became the first male player from the nation to win a silver medal beating Singapore's Loh Kean Yew in BWF World Championships at Carolina Marin Stadium in Huelva, Spain.

It was the first final of the division for both nations, and Singapore becomes the fifth nation to win gold in the men's singles at the Worlds.

redBus, IRCTC collaborate to launch rail ticketing service 'redRail'

Online bus ticketing platform redBus announced its foray into rail ticketing with the launch of redRail. redBus has launched this rail ticket booking service in collaboration with IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation) as their authorised partner.

As an introductory offer, redRail will not levy any service fee or payment gateway charges

Emma Raducanu wins BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2021

Tennis star Emma Raducanu is the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year for 2021.

She beat Tom Daley(diver) and Adam Peaty (swimmer) into second and third place, while England’s men’s footballers were named team of the year and Gareth Southgate the coach, as a triumphant period for British sport across the board was commemorated at a ceremony in Salford.

Rishabh Pant appointed as Uttarakhand's brand ambassador

Nagaland creates 3 new districts Niuland, Tseminyu, Chumukedima; State now has 15

The Nagaland government has announced the creation of three new districts, namely Tseminyu, Niuland and Chumoukedima. This comes less than a year after the 12th district of the state—Noklak—was inaugurated.

With the addition of the three new districts, Nagaland will now have 15 districts.

Tseminyu is the sub-division of the Kohima district.

India registers highest-ever annual FDI inflow of 81.97 billion dollars in 2020-21

India has registered the highest ever annual Foreign Direct Investment inflow of $ 81.97 bn in 2020-21.

FDI inflows in the last seven financial years is over $ 440 bn, which is nearly 58 % of the total FDI inflow in last 21 financial years.

Top five countries from where FDI Equity Inflows were received during 2014-2021 are Singapore, Mauritius, USA, Netherland & Japan.

India gets its 1st international arbitration centre in Hyderabad

India's first international arbitration and mediation centre was jointly inaugurated by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad.

CM Chandrasekhar Rao handed over keys of two floors space at VK towers in Gachibowli to CJI Ramana for commencement of the operations temporarily.

GACL, GAIL team up to establish bioethanol plant in Gujarat

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) and GAIL (India) Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for setting up a bioethanol plant with a production capacity of 500 kilo litre per day (KLD) in Gujarat.

The cost of the project is estimated to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore and it is expected to generate annual revenues of approximately Rs 1,500 crores.

President Kovind inaugurates landmark Kalibari temple in Dhaka

President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the reconstructed Ramna Kali temple in Ramna, a part of the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka where the landmark Suhrawardy Udyan is located.

The temple was destroyed by Pakistani forces during their Operation Searchlight in March 1971, the brutal crackdown that led to the genocide & the Bangladesh War of Liberation.
