PM Modi, his Mauritius counterpart Jugnauth to virtually inaugurate India-assisted infrastructure projects in Mauritius

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth will jointly inaugurate the India-assisted Social Housing Units project in Mauritius virtually.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two dignitaries will also launch the Civil Service College and 8MW Solar PV Farm projects in Mauritius.

Sebi launches ‘Saa ₹thi’ mobile app for investor education

Securities and Exchange Board of India chairman Ajay Tyagi has launched Saa ₹thi – a mobile app on investor education. The app will look to create awareness among the investors about the basic concepts of securities market, KYC (Know Your Customer) process, trading and settlement, mutual funds, recent market developments and investor grievances redressal mechanism.

Cabinet approves tenure extension of National Commission for Safai Karamcharis

The union cabinet has approved the extension of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) for three years with effect from April 1, 2022. Now it will remain in effect till March 31, 2025.

The commission was established in 1993 as per the provisions of the NCSK Act initially for the period upto March 31,1997.

Dileep Sanghani elected as IFFCO chairman

Dileep Sanghani has been elected as chairman of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO).

These elections were held due to the demise of incumbent Chairman Balvinder Singh Nakai earlier on October 11, 2021.

The elected board of directors of IFFCO unanimously elected Dileep Sanghani as the 17th chairman of the Cooperative.

Cabinet approves Rs 1,500 crore infusion in IREDA to boost renewable energy financing

The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the infusion of Rs 1,500 crore in the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA).

This will enable IREDA to lend Rs 12,000 crore to the renewable energy sector. This Cabinet decision will help IREDA to create renewable energy capacity of 3,500 to 4,000 MW.

Research says India sold around 75 million strips of Dolo 650 since Covid

According to statistics from the research firm IQVIA, India sold around 75 million strips of Dolo pills since the onset of the pandemic. The annual sales increased to 94 million strips or 1.4 billion tablets.

By November 2021, it had risen to 145 million strips (twice as much as in 2019) or 2.2 billion tablets.

Cabinet sanctions Rs 973 crore to SBI for ex-gratia payment to borrowers

The government has approved sanction of Rs 973.74 crore to State Bank of India (SBI) as reimbursement related to loan moratorium that was implemented in 2020 amid the pandemic.The Budget had made provision of Rs 5,500 crore for the scheme of ex-gratia payment of difference between compound interest and simple interest for six months to borrowers in specified loan accounts.
