RERA Prevails Over SARFAESI ; Homebuyers Can Move RERA Authority Against Bank's Recovery Actions : Supreme Court

The Supreme Court upheld a Rajasthan High Court judgment which held that Real Estate Regulatory Authority can entertain complaints by home buyers against the bank which took possession of a real estate project as a secured creditor(Union Bank Of India vs Rajasthan Real Estate Regulatory Authority).

The bench comprised Justices MR Shah and BV Nagarathna.

JPMorgan has become the world’s first bank to set up shop in the metaverse. The largest bank in the US has opened a lounge in the blockchain-based world Decentraland. RBI to enhance VRR cap for foreign investors by Rs 1 lakh crore from April 1

The voluntary retention route (VRR) cap for foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) will be enhanced by Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 2.50 lakh crore, given the increased interest shown by them, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das announced.

He said a dedicated investment limit of Rs 1,50,000 crore was set for investments under the VRR earlier.

First woman reported cured of HIV after stem cell transplant

A U.S. patient with leukemia has become the first woman and the third person to date to be cured of HIV after receiving a stem cell transplant from a donor who was naturally resistant to the virus that causes AIDS.

The two prior cases occurred in males - one white and one Latino - who had received adult stem cells, which are more frequently used in bone marrow transplants.

Debashis Mitra takes over as ICAI President; Aniket Sunil Talati becomes VP

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has been elected Debashis Mitra as its President for the 2022-23 term.

Aniket Sunil Talati has been elected as Vice President of the institute, which has more than 340,000 members and over 700,000 students.

Mitra, who is serving his third term in ICAI Council, has been in the accounting profession for more than 34 years.
