The Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah attended the 83rd Raising Day celebrations of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu as the Chief Guest. On this day in 1950, the country's first Home Minister and Iron Man, Sardar Patel gave CRPF its colours. Today, the CRPF is the country’s largest armed force with 246 battalions and 3.25 lakh soldiers.

This is the first time that the CRPF is celebrating its Raising Day outside Delhi.

India, Japan sign six agreements in areas including cyber security, wastewater management and clean energy

India and Japan signed six agreements in the areas including cyber security, wastewater management and clean energy after the India-Japan Annual Summit in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida held productive talks and discussed ways to boost economic and cultural linkages between the two countries.

India's forex reserves dip by $9.64 billion, the biggest drop in 2 years

India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves declined by $9.646 billion to $622.275 billion in the week ended March 11, the sharpest decline in nearly two years, as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) heavily sold dollars to prevent the slide in the value of rupee. The foreign currency assets are slumped by $11.108 billion to $554.359 billion during the week under review.

Delhi govt launches 'My EV' portal for purchasing, registering e-autos; buyers to get additional relief

The Delhi government launched an online portal "My EV" for the purchase and registration of electric autos in the city. The government will also provide a 5 percent interest subvention on the purchase of e-autos on loans under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy, an official statement said, adding Delhi has now become the first state to provide such a facility.

Mumbai Releases Climate Action Plan to Zero Out Carbon Emissions by 2050

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has unveiled the Mumbai Climate Action Plan (MCAP) – a comprehensive strategy to tackle the challenges of climate change in the city and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The BMC also revealed that there are certain infrastructure projects (worth Rs 40,000 crore) that are working towards making Mumbai climate resilient.

Ace Indian cueist Pankaj Advani defeated compatriot Dhruv Sitwala by six frames to win his eighth title at the 19th Asian 100 UP Billiards Championship 2022 in Doha.

This is Advani's 40th international title and 8th Asian crown.

Being semi-finalists, former World Champion PraputChaithanasukan from Thailand and Pauk Sa from Myanmar claimed bronze medals for their country.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has launched the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre that aims to power “Global Project" to map the human brain at the cellular and connectivity levels, with a focus on high-resolution brain imaging.

IIT Madras plans to train hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate students at this Centre in neuroscience and computing.

National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC), Country’s largest Iron Ore producer, a CPSE under Ministry of Steel signed a MoU with IIT Kharagpur for drone-based mineral exploration. NMDC has been exploring minerals for six decades for a wide range of minerals such as Copper, Rock phosphate, Limestone, magnesite, Diamond, Tungsten and Beach sands amongst others.
