IndiGo appoints Pieter Elbers as CEO; Ronojoy Dutta to retire on Sept 30

The Board of Directors of InterGlobe Aviation Limited appointed Pieter Elbers as Chief Executive Officer. He will join IndiGo on or before 1 Oct 2022. He succeeds Ronojoy Dutta who has decided to retire on 30 September 2022.

Elbers has served as the President and CEO of KLM Royal Dutch since 2014 and is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Air France-KLM Group.

Anil Baijal, Delhi L-G, submits resignation to President Sh. Kovind

Delhi lieutenant governor (L-G) Anil Baijal resigned citing personal reasons, he has submitted the resignation to President Ram Nath Kovind. Baijal, who took over office on December 31, 2016, after the sudden resignation of Najeeb Jung, has served a long tenure of more than five years and four months.

China to host BRICS Foreign Ministers meeting through video conference

China will host the meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Foreign Affairs on May 19 through video conference. The meeting will be hosted by China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and attended by India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

The meeting will prepare the ground for the 14th BRICS summit.

WCR develops battery-operated dual-mode locomotive ‘Navdoot’; Running at Jabalpur, Mudwara, and other stations on trial basis

After e-bikes, e-cars, and e-bus in the country, now the dream of e-train is also going to come true. West Central Railway has developed a battery-operated dual-mode locomotive named Navdoot. This engine runs on both modes i.e. battery and electricity. Currently, it is being used during shunting of trains at Jabalpur, Mudwara, and other stations on a trial basis.
