Centre elevates top IPS officer SL Thaosen as SSB chief, Zulfiquar Hasan named new DG BCAS

Senior IPS officers Zulfiquar Hasan and S L Thaosen have been appointed as the new directors general of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) respectively.

Sh. Hasan has been appointed for a tenure up to his superannuation on 31.10.2024.

Sh. Thaosen’s order said he has been appointed as the DG, SSB up to 30.11.2023.

MoD inks Rs 2,971-cr contract with BDL to procure ASTRA Mk-I missile system

The Defence Ministry has signed a contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) for the supply of ASTRA MK-I Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Air to Air Missile (AAM) and associated equipment for the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy at a cost of Rs 2,971 crore under Buy (Indian-IDDM) category.

GST revenue jumps 44%; stands at Rs 1.41 lakh cr in May

GST revenue for May stood at nearly Rs 1.41 lakh crore, a 44 per cent increase over the same month last year, the Finance Ministry.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenues came in lower than the record high collection in April at Rs 1.68 lakh crore.

In March GST revenues were at Rs 1.42 lakh crore, while in February it was Rs 1.33 lakh crore.

Ashwani Bhatia took charge as a whole time member (WTM) at market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
