Starbucks picks Laxman Narasimhan as next CEO with $1.3-million annual package

Global coffee giant Starbucks has named Indian-origin Laxman Narasimhan as its next chief executive officer, replacing Howard Schultz, who will continue as the company’s interim chief until April 2023.

Mr Narasimhan joined Reckitt in September 2019 and was the first external candidate to take the helm at Reckitt since it was formed in 1999.

Kalyan Chaubey beats Bhaichung Bhutia to become AIFF president

Kalyan Chaubey defeated Bhaichung Bhutia to become the All India Football Federation (AIFF) president.

Chaubey, a former Mohun Bagan and East Bengal goalkeeper won 33-1 against former captain, Bhutia. This is the first time in the history of the Federation that a former player has become its President.

Digitalisation of Rural Finance in India- Pilot for Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Lending developed by the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub

The pilot will commence in September 2022 in select districts of Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu with Union Bank of India and Federal Bank, respectively, as partner banks and with active cooperation of the respective State governments.

The proposed digitalisation of the KCC lending process will make it more efficient, reduce costs for borrowers and reduce TAT significantly.

RBI issues guidelines for digital lending, effective immediately

According to the guidelines, all loan disbursals/repayments are to be executed only between the bank accounts of the borrower and the regulated entity (RE). REs need to ensure that the disbursal is not made to a third-party account, including the accounts of loan service providers (LSPs) and their digital lending apps (DLAs).
