Mastercard to launch 'carbon calculator' for Indian consumers

Global payments and technology company Mastercard is in talks with Indian banks to roll out its Carbon Calculator feature, which offers consumers an estimated carbon footprint for each of their purchases.

Mastercard Carbon Calculator, developed in collaboration with Swedish fintech Doconomy, is currently used in over 25 countries.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inducts first indigenously developed LCH,named Prachand, into Indian Air Force in Rajasthan

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inducted the first indigenously developed light combat helicopters (LCH) into Indian Air Force at Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

The Light Combat Helicopter has been developed by state-run aerospace major Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL).

According to the Ministry of Defence, 10 helicopters would be for the IAF and five will be for the Indian Army.

Govt issues draft guidelines for listing of regional rural banks (RRBs); minimum net worth of Rs 300 cr required

The RRBs should have a track record of profitability and earned operating profit of minimum Rs 15 crore for at least three out of the previous five years, according to the draft guidelines issued by the finance ministry recently.Besides, there should not be any accumulated loss and the lender should have given return on equity of minimum 10% in 3 out of the preceding 5 yrs.

Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2022 awards: Telangana wins first prize, Haryana second

Telangana won the first prize under the large states category under the Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) 2022 which looks into the sanitation status of rural areas.

Haryana secured the second position while Tamil Nadu was third.

The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu.

The 10,000-acre safari park will cover Gurugram and Nuh districts.

National Games 2022: Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, fencer Bhavani Devi bag gold

Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu and olympic fencer Bhavani Devi won the gold medal at the 36th National Games. While Chanu walked away with the title after lifting 84 kg in snatch and 107 kgs in clean and jerk, Devi won the women’s sabre competition, earning her the third consecutive gold medal.

She also won gold medals in the 2011 and 2015 editions.
