RBI revokes authorisation certificate of Chennai-based GI Technology

The Reserve Bank of India, in the exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 8 of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, has revoked the Certificate of Authorisation (CoA) of the Chennai-based GI Technology Private Limited over governance concerns in the company.

Fiji to host 12th World Hindi Conference in 2023

Fiji is the first country in the Pacific to hold the 12th World Hindi Conference. The conference would be taking place under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Government of Fiji from February 15-17, 2023 & external affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation for the Conference.

The 11th World Hindi Conference was held in Mauritius.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Inaugurates India's Second National Model Vedic School in Puri

Mr.Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the country’s second Rashtriya Adarsh Veda Vidyalaya in Puri, with the objective of spreading knowledge of the Vedas among people.

The RAVV or the National Model Vedic School has come up on the campus of the Central Sanskrit University. Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan is the first such school in Madhya Pradesh.

Mawmluh Cave in Meghalaya first Indian Geoheritage Site recognised by UNESCO

Mawmluh Caves located in the East Khasi Hills district has made it to the first 100 geological heritage sites listed under International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) by UNESCO. The first 100 sites were chosen from 56 countries.

With 7.2 km, it is the fourth longest cave in the Indian subcontinent and is referred to locally as Krem Mawmluh.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh virtually launches two helipads in Ladakh, unveils 75 infra projects by BRO worth Rs.2180 crore

Mr.Rajnath Singh dedicated to the nation 75 infrastructure projects at a total cost of Rs.2180 crore built by the Border Roads Organisation at a function organised at D-S-DBO road in Ladakh on October 28.

The 75 projects - 45 bridges, 27 roads, 2 Helipads & one Carbon Neutral Habitat– are spread across 6 states & 2 UTs.

Two helipads are in Hanle and Thakung in Ladakh.

IAF, French Air and Space Force(FASF) carry out bilateral exercise Garuda-VII at Air Force Station Jodhpur

Indian Air Force (IAF) and FASF are participating in a bilateral exercise, named Garuda VIl, from 26 October to 12 November 2022 at Air Force Station Jodhpur.

1st, 3rd and 5th editions were conducted in India in 2003, 2006 and 2014 at Air Force Stations Gwalior, Kalaikunda and Jodhpur. The second, fourth and sixth editions were conducted in France in 2005, 2010 and 2019.

Saudi Arabia has won a bid to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games at a planned mountain resort in the Gulf Arab state's $500 billion flagship NEOM project.

NEOM is Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's most ambitious project under the kingdom's Vision 2030 development plan to reduce reliance on oil and transform the economy, including by developing sports.

India defeats Australia to win third Sultan of Johor Cup

India defeated Australia to win Sultan of Johor Cup 2022 in shootout 5-4 after a 1-1 draw.

This is the third time India has won the Sultan of Johor Cup.

The Indians have won the age group tournament twice -- 2013 and 2014 -- and finished second best four times in 2012, 2015, 2018 and the last edition of the event in 2019.

NASA Announces Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Study Team Members

NASA announced that it has selected 16 individuals to be part of its independent study team on unidentified aerial phenomena(UAP). UAP refers to things in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or natural phenomena, or in common parlance,UFOs.

The 9-month independent study will begin on Oct 24. A full report containing the team’s findings will be released in mid-2023

India to contribute $500,000 for UN Trust Fund for Counter-Terrorism

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar announced at the plenary session of UNSC special meeting of the Counter Terrorism Committee (CTC )that India will contribute USD 500,000 to the United Nations Trust Fund for Counter Terrorism this year to aid capacity-building support to member states in combating terrorism.

India is hosting the 2-day anti-terrorism meeting in Delhi.
