The National Youth Day is celebrated in India on January 12 every year, which is the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of the country’s most influential spiritual leaders. Centre named new Integrated Food Security Scheme as Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKAY)

The Centre has named the new Integrated Food Security Scheme as Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana. Earlier, the Union Cabinet had approved new integrated food security scheme for providing free foodgrains to Antodaya Ann Yojna and Primary Household beneficiaries. Implementation of the new scheme has started from 1st January 2023, benefitting more than 80 crore people.

Govt approves incentive scheme for promotion of RuPay Debit Cards and low-value BHIM-UPI transactions

The Union Cabinet approved a ₹2,600-crore incentive scheme to promote Rupay debit card and low-value BHIM-UPI transactions (person-to-merchant) in FY23. Under the scheme, "the acquiring banks will be provided financial incentive for promoting point-of-sale (PoS) and e-commerce transactions for current FY2022-23"

CBIC notifies the Customs Valuation Rules 2023, effective from February 11

The CBIC has notified the Customs (Assistance in Value Declaration of Identified Imported Goods) Rules, 2023, which will come into effect from February 11.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) will come out with a list of 'identified goods', which will be subject to stricter scrutiny for their true value.

Petrol blended with 20% ethanol from April 1, says Hardeep Singh Puri

The phased roll-out of E20 (20 per cent ethanol blending in gasoline) will begin on April 1. The fuel will be available at select outlets and will not require changes to car engines. The roll-out will give further impetus to the government plans of achieving the level of 20 per cent ethanol blending in the overall petrol supply in the country by ethanol supply year 2025-26.

Non-resident Indians (NRIs) from 10 countries can now use UPI to send and receive money if their domestic bank accounts are linked to their phone numbers abroad. Delhi was the most polluted city in India in 2022 with PM2.5 levels more than double the safe limit and the third highest average PM10 concentration, according to an analysis of Central Pollution Control Board data. ReNew Power installs India's first 3x platform wind turbine generators in Karnataka

ReNew Power said it has installed India’s first 3x platform wind turbine generators (WTGs) in Gadag, Karnataka. The WTGs have a nameplate capacity of 3.3-3.465 MW and are 128-140m in height. They offer significantly improved capacity over models installed in India to date, which typically have a nameplate capacity of 2-3 MW.
