Banwari Lal Purohit inaugurated North India’s largest floating Solar project of 2000kWp at Water Works in Chandigarh. He also inaugurated a 500kWp floating Solar Project with Fountains at Dhanas Lake in Chandigarh.

Both projects have been designed and executed by CREST (Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society).

Exercise Poorvi Akash: IAF's Eastern Air Command to conduct military drill

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will be conducting its annual Command-level exercise, Poorvi Akash, in the northeastern part of the country. The Eastern Air Command will conduct the exercise. The air combat military drill is being conducted after a gap of two years.

Rafales and Sukhoi-30MKI fighters will be participating in the air military drill.

Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) through FASTag has witnessed constant growth over the last few years. Total toll collection via FASTag on fee plazas, including state highway fee plazas during calendar year 2022 was Rs 50,855 crore. This is an increase of approximately 46 per cent as compared to Rs 34,778 crore in 2021.

President approves conferment of 106 Padma Awards

President Droupadi Murmu approved conferment of 106 Padma Awards including three duo cases for 2023.

Suryakumar Yadav has etched his name in the history books and become the 1st-ever Indian cricketer to be bestowed with the ICC Men's T20 Cricketer of the Year award. Suryakumar pipped the likes of Sikandar Raza, Sam Curran and Mohammad Rizwan to bag the top honour.

Govt approves proposal for sale of 30 Lakh MTs of wheat under Open Market Sale Scheme

The Government has approved a proposal for the sale of 30 Lakh Metric Tonnes of wheat under the Open Market Sale Scheme. Wheat will be offered to the flour millers, and bulk buyers through e-auction for a maximum quantity of three thousand Metric Tonnes per buyer, per auction, from an FCI Region under e-auction.

UN slashes India's economic growth forecast by 20 bps to 5.8% for 2023

The United Nations pared down India’s growth forecast by 20 basis points to 5.8 per cent for 2023 calendar year, citing higher interest rates and risks of recession in the developed world weighing on investment and exports. The report has projected global trade to contract 0.4 per cent and the world economy to grow at 1.9 per cent in 2023.
