Indian Surf Team wins bronze medal at Asian Surfing Championship in Maldives

Indian Surf Team won the bronze medal at the Asian Surfing Championship, held at Thulisdhoo Island in Maldives. 18 countries from Asia took part in this championship. The Surfing Federation of India sent a team comprising 4 senior Surfers in the men’s category and 2 Surfers in the Under 18 category. 5 out of the 6 Surfers were from Tamilnadu.

International Moon Day | 20 July

The General Assembly declared International Moon Day, a United Nations-designated international day to be observed annually on 20 July, in its resolution 76/76 on “International cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space” in 2021. ADB retains India's growth forecast at 6.4 percent for current financial year

The Asian Development Bank retained India's economic growth forecast at 6.4 percent for the current financial year and 6.7 percent for the next, The ADB said robust domestic demand will continue to support the region's recovery. In an update to its Asian Development Outlook, the ADB said inflation is expected to continue to fall, approaching pre-pandemic levels.

MCA exempts regional rural banks from CCI’s merger control regime

In what is seen as a prelude to the next round of consolidation among regional rural banks (RRBs), the Centre has exempted such banks from the purview of CCI’s merger control regime.

The exemption dispensation from prior scrutiny and approval of Competition Commission of India (CCI) would be available for five years, the Corporate Affairs Ministry (MCA) said.

India Needs Average Annual 7.6% GDP Growth To Become Developed By 2047: RBI

India could become a developed country by 2047 with an average annual real GDP growth of 7.6 per cent over the next 25 years, said an article published by the Reserve Bank in its July bulletin. During 2022-23, India recorded a growth of 7.2 per cent. The RBI's projection for GDP growth for the current fiscal year is 6.5 per cent.

Ashok Leyland bags major orders worth Rs 800 crore from Indian Army
