PNGRB partners with World Bank to chalk out roadmap for hydrogen blending in natural gas

Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has collaborated with the World Bank to prepare a roadmap for hydrogen blending in natural gas and their transmission through gas pipelines in the country.

The regulatory frameworks will be amended to help achieve the national target of 5 million metric tonnes per annum of hydrogen consumption by 2030.

PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country.

These stations will be redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at an estimated cost of over ₹ 24,470 crore.

Government restricts import of laptop, computers, tablets

The Indian government has imposed immediate restrictions on importing laptops, tablets, and personal computers falling under HSN 8741 category.

As per a government notification, the import of restricted items will be allowed only against a valid license.

However, the curbs will not be applicable to imports under Baggage Rules.

SBI Q1 net profit zooms 178% to ₹16,884 crore

State Bank of India (SBI) reported first quarter net profit surged 178.25% to ₹16,884 crore as compared with ₹6,068 crore a year earlier on account of improvement in asset quality and loan growth.

This is the bank’s highest-ever net profit.

The high profit is due to lower Non Performing Assets (NPA), lower provisioning and increase in the loan book.

World University Games 2023: Jyothi Yarraji wins bronze medal in women’s 100m hurdles

India’s Jyothi Yarraji won the bronze medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the FISU World University Games 2023 in Chengdu, China.

The run in the final saw Jyothi Yarraji better her previous national record by 0.04 seconds.

This was India’s second athletics medal at the Chengdu meet after Bhavani Bhagavathi Yadav claimed a bronze in the women’s long jump event.

Sebi reduces time limit for AIFs, VCs to invest overseas to 4 months

Capital markets regulator SEBI has reduced the validity period of approval given to alternative investment funds (AIFs) and venture capital funds (VCFs) for making overseas investments to four months from six months at present. If these funds fail to make investments within this time limit, then Sebi can allocate their unutilized limits to other applicant AIFs and VCs.
