Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India MDs get govt nod for tenure extension

Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved extension of term of office of A S Rajeev, MD and CEO of BoM, for six months till his superannuation.

ACC also extended the term of M V Rao, MD and CEO of Central Bank of India, till July 31, 2025.

Rajeev was appointed MD and CEO of BoM in 2018 while Rao took charge as MD and CEO of Central Bank of India in 2021.

Bank of Maharashtra top among PSU lenders in loan, deposit growth in Q2

State-owned Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) retained the top spot among public sector lenders in loan and deposit growth in percentage terms during the second quarter of the current financial year.

The deposit and advances of the Pune-based lender posted an over 20 per cent rise, the highest by any public sector bank during the July-September period.

RBI ups minimum amount for offering non-callable term deposits from ₹15 lakh to ₹1 crore

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has increased the minimum amount for offering non-callable/without premature withdrawal option term deposits (TDs) from ₹15 lakh to ₹1 crore.

What this means is that all domestic term deposits accepted from individuals for amount of ₹1 crore and below shall have premature-withdrawal-facility.

NTPC Renewable Energy starts commercial operation from its maiden project in Gujarat

NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has declared the commercial operation of its first project -- the 50 MW wind project at Dayapar in Kutch, Gujarat.

With this commercial operation, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has become 73,874 MW and the total renewable energy (RE) operational capacity now stands at 3,364 .
