Union Minister for the Development of the North East Region Jyotiraditya Scindia launched the North East Region Agri Commodity E-Connect (NERACE) designed to benefit the farmers of the region and help position it as a hub of high-value horticultural products in the international market.

India, Marshall Islands sign MoU on development projects.

India signed an agreement with the Marshall Islands to provide an annual grant for four community development projects as part of New Delhi’s outreach to Pacific Island states. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at the Indian embassy in Tokyo by India’s ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, and foreign minister Kalani Kaneko of Marshall Islands.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)held a prelaunch stakeholder meeting to announce the ‘Agri-SURE’ fund,an Agri Fund for Start-Ups & Rural Enterprises.The fund is announced by NABVENTURES, a subsidiary of NABARD with an initial corpus of Rs750 Crore with 250 crores each from NABARD and the Ministry of Agriculture, and 250 crores from other ins.

Managed by NABVENTURES, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NABARD, the fund is structured to support approximately 85 agri start-ups with investment sizes of up to Rs25 crore each by the end of its term. The fund will provide support through investments in sector-specific, sector-agnostic, and debt Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), as well as direct equity support to start-up.

The Gujarat government plans to extend the "Cooperation among Cooperatives" initiative to all 33 districts after a successful pilot in two districts. It aims to centralise bank accounts and deposits of cooperative societies for increased financial liquidity and loan accessibility.

Over 4 lakh new accounts were opened, resulting in a significant boost of over Rs 966 crore in bank deposits. As many as 1,700 micro ATMs have been installed to enhance financial services at the village level. The initiative was envisioned by Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and launched on a pilot basis in Banaskantha and Panchmahal districts of Gujarat.
