DMRC wins Global Water Tech Award for environmental initiatives.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has received the 'Global Water Tech Award 2024' in the 'organisation' category for its initiatives in environmental conservation, according to an officials. Global Energy and Environment Foundation (GEEF) presented the honour, recognising DMRC's efforts in water conservation and efficient utilisation of water resources across Delhi.

Its key initiatives include rainwater harvesting pits, sewage treatment plants, and the use of treated effluent for construction, horticulture, and dust suppression at various sites. During its first phase of construction, DMRC rejuvenated the dry Sarpakar Lake in the ridge area using "dewatered water" obtained from one of its construction site near Delhi University.

DMRC wins Global Water Tech Award for environmental initiatives.

Currently, dewatered water from Phase-IV construction is being used to rejuvenate Roshanara Bagh Lake, with more than a kilometre of pipeline laid by DMRC to facilitate this, it said. Additionally, treated water from sewage treatment plants meets the water requirements for maintaining horticulture at DMRC premises including staff quarters, depots, and Metro Bhawan.

Ultratech Cement approves India Cements acquisition.

UltraTech Cement Ltd's board has approved the acquisition of an additional 33% stake in India Cements Ltd from its promoters and associates at Rs 390 per share. The acquisition, valued at an enterprise value (EV) of $121 per tonne, involves an outflow of Rs 1,900 crore and is subject to regulatory approvals.

Ultratech Cement approves India Cements acquisition.

Shares of UltraTech Cement were trading 0.72% higher on the BSE at Rs 11,763.50, while shares of Indian Cements rose 0.81% to Rs 377.65. Previously, UltraTech Cement acquired a 23% stake in India Cements in June, increasing its total stake to 56% at an EV of $108 per tonne. UltraTech has also made an open offer for an additional 26% equity stake at Rs 390 per share.

According to Emkay Global, this acquisition significantly strengthens UltraTech Cement's market position, with the company's capacity market share in the South expected to more than double to 25% by FY27E. Emkay Global maintains a 'Buy' rating on UltraTech Cement, with a target price of Rs 12,800 per share by June 2025, based on 20 times EV/E.
