FSIB recommends Ashok Chandra as next PNB managing director and CEO.

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) recommended Ashok Chandra for the position of managing director (MD) & chief executive officer (CEO) of Punjab National Bank (PNB).

Chandra is currently executive director (ED) at Canara Bank since November 21, 2022. The current MD & CEO of PNB, Atul Kumar Goel, is set to complete his tenure on December 31, 2024.

Indian Coast Guard (ICG) simultaneously launched two Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs) ‘Adamya’ and ‘Akshar’, with over 60% indigenous content, built by Goa Shipyard Ltd. (GSL) on October 28, 2024. The vessels are part of the contract signed with GSL for eight such FPVs to be built at a cost of Rs 473 crore.

The State Bank of India and the India Exim Bank are helping businesses in African countries to fill the gap in trade finance, the South African heads of the two organisations told the India Entrepreneurs Forum (IEF) here.

RBI sets Rs 300 cr networth criteria for central counterparty authorisation.

The Reserve Bank said an entity seeking authorisation or recognition as a Central Counterparty (CCP) should have a minimum networth of Rs 300 crore at the time of submitting its application.

CCP means a system provider by way of novation interposes between system participants in the transactions admitted for settlement.

CCP becomes the buyer to every seller and the seller to every buyer to effect settlement of their transactions.

RBI updated its June 2019 norms for Central Counterparties.

According to the revised directions, every authorised CCP has to submit an audited networth certificate as at close of financial year from the statutory auditor within six months of the closure of FY.
