Food aggregator Zomato said that its board of directors had approved a resolution to officially change the name of the parent company to Eternal Ltd. The change of name is subject to the approval of shareholders, the corporate affairs ministry, and other statutory authorities. After the approval, the company's corporate website will transition from zomato.com to eternal.com
Eternal will comprise the company's four major businesses - food delivery platform Zomato, quick commerce arm Blinkit, going-out business District, and business-to-business supplies vertical Hyperpure. The development comes over two years after the company began using the new name internally.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Thursday debarred Brightcom Group’s chairman and managing director, M Suresh Kumar Reddy, and whole-time director and promoter, Vijay Kancharla, for five years each from the securities market, alleging financial misrepresentation and disclosure violations.
The market regulator had issued a show-cause notice-cum-interim order to the new media company in 2023. In a second interim order, Sebi had barred Reddy from the markets. The regulator issued the final order, imposing a total penalty of Rs 34 crore on Brightcom and four others. Of this, Reddy and Kancharla have been imposed with a penalty of Rs 15 crore each.
India ranks third in USGBC's LEED green building certification globally during 2024, according to a report. India retained its third spot on US Green Building Council's (USGBC) annual list of top 10 countries and regions for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) in 2024.
LEED certifications in India are managed by the Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), which works to accelerate the adoption of green buildings nationwide. The annual ranking by USGBC highlights the significant progress made by countries and regions outside the United States in adopting healthy, sustainable and resilient building design, construction and operations.

In a significant policy shift, the RBI Monetary Policy Committee has reduced the repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25% from 6.5%. This marks the first rate cut in two years and was announced by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra on Friday after the MPC’s meeting held between February 5 and 7. The decision was taken unanimously by all members of the committee.
Alongside the repo rate reduction, the standing deposit facility (SDF) rate has been lowered to 6% from 6.25%, while the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the bank rate have been revised to 6.5% from 6.75%. The RBI MPC has opted to continue with its ‘neutral’ stance, emphasizing the need for a sustained alignment of inflation with the target.

2. "Kalpana Avijan” scheme of Dhenkanal district: -
This scheme was launched in Dhenkanal district of Odisha to track and monitor adolescent girls (10-19 years) and prevent child marriage through committees at various levels. This scheme prevented 343 child marriages between year 2019-2024.
3. "Swarna Kalika" scheme of Keonjhar district: Through "Swarna Kalika" scheme awareness raised in villages on the harmful effects of child marriage. Over 2,000 stakeholders involved in the campaign Promoted ADVIKA app for awareness and intervention in Keonjhar district of Odisha.
4. “Veerangana” scheme of Deogarh district: -With the growing crimes against women and girls, it is important to know more than just the use of pepper spray, Different forms of Martial Arts can help a lot to defend girls in the time of need. The International Football Federation (FIFA) has suspended the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) after it failed to amend its constitution as required for the smooth and fair governance of the sport in the country. FIFA stated that Pakistan will remain suspended until the PFF Congress makes the necessary amendments.

The Reserve Bank of India has sanctioned the Scheme of Amalgamation of The Citizen Cooperative Bank Limited, Vasco-Da-Gama, Goa with TJSB Sahakari Bank Ltd. The Scheme has been sanctioned in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (4) of Section 44A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
The Scheme will come into force with effect from February 10, 2025 (Monday). The branches of The Citizen Cooperative Bank Limited, Vasco-Da-Gama, Goa will function as branches of TJSB Sahakari Bank Ltd. with effect from February 10, 2025.
