Government is unlikely to go ahead with commerce ministry’s proposal for merger of trading firms Metals & Minerals Trading Corporation of India (MMTC) & State Trading Corporation (STC). STC & MMTC are under the administrative control of commerce ministry.

Women & Child Development (WCD) Ministry is set to move a proposal for enhanced punishment in cases of sexual assault of male children. Law Ministry has cleared the proposal to amend the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
