India set to cross 100 GW renewable energy capacity mark in 2020

India is all set to cross the 100GW renewable energy capacity mark in 2020. India’s installed renewable energy generation capacity touched 86GW by November-end. Around 30GW renewable capacity including 18GW solar & 10GW wind is under implementation.

NPCI offers recharge option for FASTag through BHIM UPI

National Payments Corporation of India said that customers can recharge FASTags through any BHIM UPI enabled mobile app. FASTag, by the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) has been made mandatory for toll payment in the country from 15th December.

RBI launches new prepaid payment instrument for digital transactions

RBI introduced a new semi-closed prepaid payment instrument (PPI) which can be used for transaction of goods and services up to a limit of Rs 10,000. Such PPIs will be issued by bank & non-bank PPI issuers after obtaining minimum details of the PPI holder.

Aadhaar made mandatory for PMVVY pension scheme

The Government has made Aadhaar mandatory for subscribers of the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY) -a pension scheme for senior citizens. The scheme, which envisages an assured rate of return of 8% annually, is being implemented through LIC.

After France, Italy approves digital tax on large tech companies

Following in the footsteps of France, Italy has approved a new tax to be levied on large tech companies. A 3% digital tax on some digital revenue of technology companies that make over $831 million in global revenue, including least $6 million in Italy.
