DRDO successfully test fires enhanced Pinaka Rocket at Integrated Test Range in Chandipur,Odisha

122 mm Caliber rockets were launched from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) and now the enhanced range version of the indigenously developed Pinaka Rocket System can destroy targets at distances up to 45 kilometres.

The rocket system has been developed jointly by Pune based Armament Research and Development Establishment and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory.

The nuclear-capable,missile reaches speeds of 0.6-0.7 Mach & can strike land targets at a distance of up to 1,000 km.

The missile can loiter and cruise at 0.7 Mach, at altitudes as low as 100 m.

The guidance,control and navigation system of the missile is configured around the indigenously designed Ring Laser Gyroscope & MEMS-based Inertial Navigation System along with GPS.

The kit costs just Rs 50,and is 100% indigenously developed and manufactured.The Antigen testing kit has been developed by IIT-D’s Centre for Biomedical Engineering (CBME) led by Professor Harpal Singh.

Maharashtra Govt aims to train 5 lakh educated youths under the ambitious apprenticeship scheme in next five years

The Maharashtra Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (MAPS) aims to provide employment and training to 5 lakh educated unemployed youths in the next five years.

During the current year, one lakh youths will get apprenticeship opportunities.

Under this scheme,the trainees will be entitled to get 75% of the scholarship payable to them or a maximum of Rs 5,000 whichever is less.

SEBI has reconstituted its Takeover Panel, which looks into the applications seeking exemption from the mandatory open offer that an acquirer needs to make to minority shareholders.

The regulator has appointed N Venkatram MD and CEO, Deloitte India as the new member of the Takeover Panel.

Panel is chaired by N K Sodhi and first panel was constituted in November 2007.

S&P Global Ratings cuts India's FY 2021-22 growth forecast to 9.5 per cent

S&P Global Ratings cut India's growth forecast for the current fiscal to 9.5 per cent, from 11 per cent earlier, and warned of risk to the outlook from further waves of COVID pandemic.

The agency lowered the growth outlook saying that a severe second COVID-19 outbreak in April and May led to lockdowns imposed by states and sharp contraction in economic activity.

Delhi govt creates portal for ‘Mukhyamantri COVID-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana’

Under the scheme,an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 will be provided to those who have lost a family member to coronavirus and an additional Rs 2,500 pension per month if the deceased was the sole breadwinner.

Children who lost their both parents or single parent to COVID-19 will also be provided Rs 2,500 per month till they achieve 25 years of age and free education as well.

RBI issues norms for dividend distribution by NBFCs

RBI has mandated that net NPA ratio of the NBFC concerned should be less than 6% in each of the last three years for declaring dividend.

Similarly,RBI has prescribed applicable regulatory capital requirement in different types of NBFCs.For example,a deposit taking NBFCs will need to have a minimum capital adequacy ratio of 15%.

275 million people used drugs worldwide in 2020:World Drug Report released by the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime

Around 275 million people used drugs worldwide last year, while over 36 million people suffered from drug use disorders.

Report also said many countries saw a rise in the use of cannabis during the coronavirus pandemic.In surveys of health professionals across 77 countries, 42% said cannabis use had increased.

A rise in non-medical use of pharmaceutical drugs was observed.
