IREDA to Support TANGEDCO in Green Energy projects; MoU Signed

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) signed a MoU with the Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO), for providing its technical expertise in developing Renewable Energy projects and fundraising.

Under the MoU, IREDA will extend its technical expertise to TANGEDCO for Renewable energy project development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chairs 13th BRICS Summit

As part of India’s ongoing Chairship of BRICS in 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 13th BRICS Summit.

The meeting will be attended by the President of Brazil, Russia, China, and South Africa.

The theme for the Summit is ‘BRICS@15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus’.

This is the second time PM Modi will be chairing the BRICS.

Snow leopard, Black necked crane declared state animal and birds in Ladakh

The Union Territory government of Ladakh has declared 'snow leopard' (Panther unica) its state animal and black-necked crane (Grus nigricollis) state animal and black-necked crane state bird.

The black-necked crane is found in eastern Ladakh's high-altitude wetlands and marshes.

There are about 7,500 snow leopards left in the world, out of which 500 are in India.

Rajni Kaul who was the first News Broadcaster for BBC Hindi passed away in Faridabad, Haryana. She was 93.

She was not only the first woman to join BBC Hindi as a staff member but she also became the first woman to read a news bulletin in Hindi on the network in 1961.

She was well-known for her programme Indradhanush.
