Contract of Neeraj Chopra's coach Klaus Bartonietz extended till 2024 Paris Olympics:AFI

Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra will continue to train with his German coach Klaus Bartonietz, whose contract has been extended till the 2024 Paris Games, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) confirmed.

Bartonietz took charge as Chopra's coach from compatriot and former world record holder javelin thrower Uwe Hohn.

Centenarian freedom fighter Ayyappan Pillai passes away

Veteran freedom fighter, eminent lawyer and one of the early leaders of the BJP in Kerala, K Ayyappan Pillai passed away in the city at the age of 107 years.

Pillai was one of the senior most members of the bar associations in the country.

The centenarian was also the one of the first councillors of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.

GAIL acquires 26% stake in ONGC Tripura Power Company

State-run power utility GAIL (India) has acquired 26 per cent equity in ONGC Tripura Power Company (OTPC), which owns and operates a 726.6 megawatt (MW) gas-based combined cycle power plant at Palatana in Tripura.

GAIL had participated in an open bidding process of IL&FS and had emerged as the successful bidder.

RBI cancels CoA of Muthoot Vehicle & Asset Finance and Eko India Financial Services

The Reserve Bank of India stated that the Certificate of Authorisation (CoA) of Payment System Operators (PSOs) Muthoot Vehicle and Asset Finance Limited and Eko India Financial Services Ltd has been canceled.

The CoAs of both these PSOs were cancelled by the apex bank on account of non-compliance with the regulatory requirements.

Jet Airways interim CEO Sudhir Gaur steps down
