Govt to soon launch nationwide campaign 'Har Ghar Tiranga' to inspire people to hoist national flag

The Central government will soon launch a nationwide campaign Har Ghar Tiranga to inspire countrymen to hoist the national flag at their homes to mark the 75th Independence Day.The initiative has been taken under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, for which the Ministry of Culture is the nodal ministry.It aims at encouraging Indians everywhere to hoist the national flag

Paper Import Monitoring System, PIMS will come into effect from 1st October this year

As per PIMS, an importer will have to provide advance information online about the import of papers and obtain a registration number. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has introduced Paper Import Monitoring System by amending the import policy of major paper products.Paper Import Monitoring System (PIMS) will come into effect from 1st October 2022.

Eminent archaeologist, historian and former Director-General of the Bangladesh National Museum Dr. Enamul Haque passed away in Dhaka yesterday. He was 85. Dr. Enamul Haque was conferred with Padma Shri for the year 2020 for his work on Bengal’s Iconography and terracotta art.He was instrumental in setting up the Bangladesh National Museum.

In Shooting, India’s Arjun Babuta have won his first gold medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup stage at Changwon in South Korea. He defeated Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Lucas Kozeniesky of the USA 17-9 in the final. Arjun Babuta had also topped the eight-men ranking round with a score of 261.1 ahead of Lucas Kozeniesky’s 260.4.

World Masters Athletics Championships: 94-year-old Bhagwani Devi from India wins gold medal in 100 m sprint in Finland

In Athletics, Bhagwani Devi, a 94-year-old sprinter from India, won the gold medal in the 100 m sprint at the World Masters Athletics Championships held in Tampere, Finland. She won the gold with a timing of 24.74 seconds. Bhagwani also bagged a bronze medal in shot put. World Masters Athletics Championships was held in Tampere from June 29 - July 10.
