Andaman and Nicobar Islands become India’s first Swachh Sujal Pradesh

Union Jal Shakti Minister declared Andaman and Nicobar Islands as India’s first Swachh Sujal Pradesh. Speaking at a function in Port Blair, he handed over the certificate to Lieutenant Governor Admiral DK Joshi.

On World Water Day, 22 March 2021, Andaman and Nicobar Islands was declared to have achieved 100% coverage of rural households with tap water connection.

Indian Navy decommissions INS Ajay after 32 years of glorious service

The ceremony was conducted at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai in the traditional manner, wherein the national flag, naval ensign and the decommissioning pennant of the ship were lowered for the last time at sunset, signifying the end of the ship's commissioned service

INS Ajay was commissioned on January 24, 1990 at Poti, Georgia in the erstwhile USSR.

CBDT issues Revised Guidelines for compounding of offences under the Income-tax Act, 1961

Specific upper limits have been introduced for the compounding fee covering defaults across several provisions of the Act. Additional compounding charges in the nature of penal interest @ 2% per month up to 3 months and 3% per month beyond 3 months have been reduced to 1% and 2% respectively.

The Scheme of Amalgamation was approved by the Mumbai bench of NCLT.

World Bank approves $150 million loan for Punjab to improve state’s finances, service delivery

The new projects will support the state’s development goals by strengthening the planning, budgeting and monitoring functions, and leveraging digital technology, besides increasing accountability in the public procurement systems by supporting the state-wide implementation of new legal and policy reforms.
