The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has raised by around four times the minimum download speed under broadband services to 2 Mbps (mega bits per second).
The revision in the definition comes after nine years. In 2013, the central government had defined broadband services to have a minimum download speed of 512 Kbps.

It is the first of its kind Commercial Maritime Cluster in the country aimed at creating a hub for maritime services of international standards. Gujarat Maritime Board established GMC through its subsidiary, Gujarat Ports Infrastructure Company.
Google Cloud reportedly invested $300 million into artificial intelligence (AI) startup firm Anthropic. Anthropic is working on Claude, an AI assistant tool that could compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT. Microsoft has already announced the inclusion of the ChatGPT AI model in the Bing search engine. Google will take a stake of about 10 per cent.
