Rajesh Kannan appointed President and CDIO of Tata Motors with effect from August 1

Automobile major Tata Motors has announced the appointment of Rajesh Kannan as the President and Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO). Kannan is presently working with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Limited.

He will be moving from TCS to Tata Motors, to take up his new role as President and CDIO from August 1st.

Asian Paints announced that its board approved the appointment of R Seshasayee, as the chairman of the board and the company, with effect from October 1, 2023. He will continue to hold the position till January 22, 2027.

Seshasayee will replace Deepak Satwalekar, whose term ends on September 30

IMF Raises India's GDP Forecast To 6.1% For FY24

The International Monetary Fund has revised the growth forecast of India's gross domestic product to 6.1% for the current fiscal. The 0.2 percentage point upward revision as compared with the April projection reflects momentum from stronger domestic investments last year, according to the latest edition of the IMF's World Economic Outlook.

M&M acquires 3.53% stake in RBL Bank for Rs 417 cr

Mahindra and Mahindra said it had bought a 3.53% stake in RBL Bank for ₹417 crores. The company also broached the possibility of additional investments up to a 9.9% stake.

An approval from the Reserve Bank of India is needed to acquire a 5% stake in any Indian lender.

Jupiter-3, world’s largest private satellite, set for launch by SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy

SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket will launch Maxar Technologies' largest ever satellite, the Jupiter 3. The communications platform will join others in the Hughes Jupiter satellite fleet already in orbit, which provides broadband internet services to North and South America.

The satellite will be the world's largest commercial communications satellite once it's fully deployed.

MRPL becomes largest single-location refinery in India

The Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a Miniratna PSU refinery based in coastal Karnataka and a subsidiary of ONGC, has become the single largest PSU-refinery (single location) in the country for the year 2022-23. MRPL achieved this feat by processing 17.14 Million Metric (MT) tonnes of crude oil during the past financial year.
