Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships 2023 in Greater Noida.
The event is being held in India for the first time.
The international event will see the participation of more than 30 Indian weightlifters, including many Khelo India Athletes.

Banks working to develop global standards on accounting for carbon emissions in bond or stock sale underwriting have voted to exclude emissions from their own carbon footprint. Majority of banks comprising industry working group backed a plan to exclude 2/3rd of the emissions linked to their capital markets businesses from being attributed to them carbon accounting.
The United States has announced $345 million in military aid for Taiwan, in what is the Biden administration’s first major package drawing on America’s own stockpiles to help Taiwan counter China. The package would include defense, education and training for the Taiwanese. The goals are to help it counter China and to deter China from any attack.
Taiwan’s Foxconn Technology Group, a key supplier to Apple Inc, pledged to invest Rs 1,600 crore to set up a high-end electronics component manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram district generating jobs for about 6,000 people. The investment to be made by Foxconn Industrial Internet (Fii), the largest subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group.
