RBI Imposes Monetary Penalty on Rahimatpur Sahakari Bank Limited, Rahimatpur, Dist. Satara (Maharashtra)

RBI imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1.00 lakh on Rahimatpur Sahakari Bank Ltd., Rahimatpur, Dist. Satara, (the bank) for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on ‘Maintenance of Deposit Accounts- Primary (Urban) Co-operative Banks’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred under the the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

The India-European Union (EU) Trade & Technology Council (TTC) Working Group 2 (WG2) convened a two-day international workshop on “Green & Clean Energy Technologies” during October 10-11, 2023.

Cabinet approves royalty rates for lithium, niobium, Rare Earth Elements | 1

The Centre approved royalty rate for lithium, niobium, and for Rare Earth Elements (REEs). For lithium and nobium a royalty rate of 3% each has been fixed, while for Rare Earth Elements (REEs), the rate has been set at 1%.

The royalty rate approval will allow the Centre to auction lithium, niobium and REEs blocks for the first time in the country.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved amendment of Second Schedule of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (MMDR Act) for specifying rate of royalty in respect of 3 critical and strategic minerals, namely, lithium, niobium and Rare Earth Elements.

Recently, the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment act, 22023 was passed by the Parliament, which has come into force from 17th August, 2023. The Amendment, among other things, delisted six minerals, including Lithium and Niobium, from the list of atomic minerals, thereby allowing grant of concessions for these minerals to private sector through auction

Cabinet approves establishment of an autonomous body Mera Yuva Bharat

Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), an autonomous body will benefit the youth in the age group of 15-29 years, in line with the definition of ‘Youth’ in the National Youth Policy.

In case of programme components specifically meant for the adolescents, the beneficiaries will be in the age group of 10-19 years.

MRPL wins Petroleum Ministry’s innovation award

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has won the ‘Best Innovation in Refinery’ award from the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

MRPL has secured the award for 2022-23 for the second consecutive year amid stiff competition from IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL.

This award is based on a patent for an energy-efficient hydrocarbon distillation process.
