Cabinet approves MoU between India, Guyana on cooperation in hydrocarbons

Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the signing of a MoU between the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India & the Ministry of Natural Resources, Guyana, on cooperation in the hydrocarbon sector.

Also, it will include cooperation in the area of clean energy, including biofuels as well as the renewables sector, including solar energy.

India, Nepal Ink Agreement on Export of 10,000 MW of Electricity

India & Nepal formally inked the agreement for export of 10,000 megawatt of electricity from the Himalayan nation to the South Asian giant over a period of 10 years.

Nepal’s Energy secretary Gopal Sigdel & his Indian counterpart Pankaj Agrawal signed the bilateral agreement in the presence of Jaishankar & Nepal’s Minister for Energy, Water Resources, & Irrigation.

GAIL inks 10-year LNG deal with trading company Vitol

GAIL (India) Limited and Vitol Asia Pte Ltd on Friday announced the signing of a Long Term liquefied natural gas (LNG) deal into India for a supply of approximately one million metric tonnes of LNG per annum for a period of about 10 years, commencing 2026.

Under this deal, Vitol will deliver LNG from its global LNG portfolio to GAIL in India on a pan-India basis.
