SJVN inks Power Usage Agreement with Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Limited for 300 MW Solar Power

SJVN Limited, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has signed a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) with Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Limited (JKPCL). Under the PUA, SGEL will supply 300 MW Solar Power capacity to JKPCL from the under-construction 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan.

Chairperson & Managing Director, SJVN, Smt. Geeta Kapur informed that the Bikaner Solar Power Project is being developed by SJVN through SGEL under the CPSU Scheme of IREDA for Rs. 5,491 crores. The project is being developed under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode and is slated for commissioning by July 2024.

Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar launched the ‘Investor Information and Analytics Platform’ developed by IIT Madras. This platform has been developed by the Researchers at the Centre for Research on Start-ups and Risk Financing (CREST) of IIT Madras.

This platform will act as a one-stop shop for startups to seamlessly access Venture Capitalists (VCs) and investor networks, Govt schemes, and several other components of the startup landscape for all stakeholders. An important feature of this unique platform is “StartupGPT” which is an AI-based conversational platform.

This exemplifies the nation’s steadfast commitment to achieving self-reliance in coal production and minimizing overall coal imports.

Veteran Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas took his last breath on Monday, at the age of 72, his family confirms. His family released a statement confirming the demise of the legendary singer. The statement reads, “With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February due to a prolonged illness.”

Udha’s first song in the movie was Kamna, which was composed by Usha Khanna and written by Naqsh Lyallpuri. Thereafter, Udhas developed an interest in Ghazals and learned Urdu to pursue a career as a ghazal singer. He released his first ghazal album in 1980, i.e., Aahat.

Amazon Pay, the fintech arm of e-commerce major Amazon India, has received a payment aggregator license from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the company. The fintech firm joins a list of companies that the central bank has granted authorization to operate as payment aggregators (PA) recently.

Food delivery major Zomato, and fintech firms Stripe and Tata Pay were among the companies to have bagged the license in January. They joined the likes of Razorpay, Cashfree Payments, and EnKash, which got approval last year. The company added that the authorization from the banking regulator would enable it to strengthen its distribution channels.

India’s poverty rate declined to 4.5-5% in 2022-23, SBI Researcher, with rural poverty declining to 7.2% from 25.7% in 2011-12 and urban poverty down to 4.6% from a decade ago period, according to the new Household Consumption Expenditure Survey data. SBI Researchers estimated the new poverty line, or the basic level of consumption required was Rs 1,622 for rural areas.
