SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2026 for BRO Posts
Candidates applying for Junior Engineer posts in the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) must satisfy the prescribed Physical Efficiency Test (PET), physical standards and medical standards in addition to the general SSC JE eligibility requirements. These standards are applicable only to male candidates applying for BRO posts. The physical and medical examinations are conducted by BRO after the declaration of the final result. What is SSC JE Physical Efficiency Test?
The SSC JE Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for BRO posts requires candidates to complete a one-mile run within 10 minutes. Passing the test is mandatory to proceed to the medical examination. SSC JE Medical Standards for GREF
Candidates selected for BRO posts must also satisfy the GREF medical standards. The medical examination assesses whether candidates are physically and mentally fit to perform duties in difficult terrain, high-altitude areas and other challenging conditions associated with BRO service. Only candidates declared medically fit are eligible for appointment.
Mental and Physical Health
Every recruit must be in sound physical health and free from nervous instability or any constitutional or acquired disability that could make them unsuitable for duties in BRO, particularly in high-altitude and difficult areas.
