RRB ALP Exam Pattern
RRB ALP exam pattern consists of four phases which are:
- CBT Stage- 1
- CBT Stage- 2
- CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test)
- Document Verification
Out of these stages, Stage 1 is a qualifying round and Stage 2 determines the progress of the candidate to the next round. The exam pattern of these stages is discussed in detail here
CBT Stage 1 Exam Pattern
The first stage consists of questions from the areas of mathematics, reasoning, current affairs and general science. The total marks for this round is 75 marks and total time is 1 hour duration. This round is only qualifying in nature.

CBT Stage 2 Exam Pattern
Stage 2 of RRB ALP is also a computer-based test where there are two parts: the first part consist of 100 marks and the second part consists of questions specific to the relevant trade, this section is of 75 marks.

There will be 1/3rd negative marking in the first two rounds.
Stage 3 CBAT Exam Pattern
Stage 3 of the RRB ALP is a Computer-based aptitude test or CBAT. It does not have any negative marking. The candidate needs to score 42 marks in each of the test batteries. For final selection, 70% weightage will be given to the second CBT and 30% to CBAT.
Stage 4 Document Verification
In this stage, candidates who have cleared the evaluation process will be asked to appear for document verification which will be the final step in the selection process.
