The RBI Grade B Exam Pattern & Syllabus` guides candidates through three stages—Phase 1, Phase 2, and the Interview. Phase 1 serves as a qualifying round, while the final selection depends on how candidates perform in Phase 2 and the Interview. The exam setters provide question papers for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 in Hindi and English, except for the English language test. Each paper comes with a separate time limit, so candidates must manage their time wisely in each section.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern
The Exam Pattern of RBI Grade B Phase 2 consists of three papers: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Check out some important highlights below:
- Papers 1 and 3 are a combination of both objective and descriptive questions, while Paper 2 is a completely descriptive paper.
- For both Papers I and III, there are 30 questions and 50 marks for Objective questions (some questions carrying 2 marks each and some carrying 1 mark each).
- For ESI & FM, the marks are 50 each for objective & descriptive papers but for English, the maximum marks are 100.
- In the case of Descriptive questions, out of 6 questions, candidates are required to attempt 4 questions (2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each). In case, the candidate answers more than 4 questions in descriptive paper, the first 4 shall be evaluated.

RBI Grade B Interview
The Interview will carry 75 marks for each post. The board will shortlist candidates for the interview based on the total marks they obtain in Phase II (Paper I + Paper II + Paper III). It will determine the minimum aggregate cut-off marks, considering the number of vacancies. RBI will publish the roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates on its official website, and it will send interview call letters to the registered email IDs. Candidates can choose to give the interview in either Hindi or English.
After clearing the preliminary and main exams, candidates who pass both phases will proceed to the interview round. The final merit list will be prepared by adding the marks obtained in Phase II and the interview.
