Canara Bank Apprentice Eligibility Nationality Criteria

The notification states that Canara Bank is inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for engagement as Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates must fulfill all the eligibility conditions prescribed in the notification.

Canara Bank Apprentice Age Limit Criteria

Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age as on 1 September 2026. Canara Bank Apprentice Educational Qualification 2026

Candidates applying for Canara Bank Apprentice 2026 must have a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

Candidates must have passed their graduation between 1 January 2023 and 1 September 2026, with both dates inclusive. Therefore, candidates who completed graduation before 1 January 2023 are not eligible for this apprenticeship.

Canara Bank Apprentice Local Language Proficiency 2026

Candidates must meet the local language requirement for the State/UT they choose. The notification specifies the local language(s) for each State/UT along with the number of training seats. For example, the local language for West Bengal is Bengali/Nepali, while Karnataka has Kannada and Tamil Nadu has Tamil.

Candidates who have studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard and can produce the relevant mark sheet/certificate will not have to appear for the local language test. Other candidates will have to qualify in the local language test conducted during the document verification process.

Candidates should note that they can opt for training seats in only one State. They can provide their preference for districts within the selected State, but allotment will depend on the Bank’s requirements and availability of training seats.

Canara Bank Apprentice Other Eligibility Conditions 2026

Apart from age, education and language requirements, candidates must satisfy certain additional conditions:

  • Candidates must not have previously undergone Apprenticeship Training with Canara Bank or another organization under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
  • Candidates who are currently undergoing such apprenticeship training or whose previous apprenticeship was terminated due to their fault are not eligible.
  • Candidates who have undergone training or have one year or more of job experience after completing their educational qualification are not eligible.
  • Selected candidates must be declared medically fit according to the Bank’s requirements.

Canara Bank Apprentice Selection Process 2026
