JKSSB Police SI Exam Pattern

Exam Pattern for the Written Exam is as Follows: –

  1. The JKSSB written examination will have 120 objective-type MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions).
  2. The total marks of the Examination are 150
  3. The questions will be set in English only.
  4. The duration of the JKSSB written Examination is 2 hours (120 minutes).
  5. Negative marking is applicable. For each incorrect answer, a 0.25 mark will be deducted.
  6. The questions will be of Graduation level.

What After JK Police SI Written Exam?

Physical Standard Test (PST)

For Male candidates 

  • Minimum height Required- 5’6″
  • Chest Measurement- 32″
  • Chest Measurement (Expanded)- 33 ½”

For Female candidates 

  • Minimum height Required- 5’2″

For candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community, the minimum height will be relaxed by 2″.

Candidates meeting the Physical Standard Requirements will require to take the Physical Endurance Test.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

For Male candidates (Age upto 30 years)

  • Time Duration for 1600m Race: 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
  • Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down will be counted as one).

For Female candidates (Age upto 30 years)

  • Time Duration for 1000m Race: 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
  • Shotput (4 kgs in 3 Attempts): 14.5 ft

Special provision regarding relaxation in Physical Endurance Tests for Ex-Serviceman:

For Male candidates (Age upto 30 years)

  • Time Duration for 1600m Race: 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
  • Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down will be counted as one).

For Male candidates (Age 30- 40 years)

  • Time Duration for 1600m Race: 7 ½ minutes (seven minutes 30 seconds)
  • Pushups: 16 (one cycle of up and down will be counted as one)

For Male candidates (Age above 40 years)

  • Time Duration for 1600m Race: 8 ½ minutes (eight minutes 30 seconds)
  • Pushups: 12 (one cycle of up and down will be counted as one)

For Female candidates (Age upto 30 years)

  • Time Duration for 1000m Race: 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
  • Shotput (4 kgs in 3 Attempts): 14.5 ft

For Female candidates (Age between 30- 40 years)

  • Time Duration for 1000m Race: 7 ½ minutes (Seven minutes thirty seconds)
  • Shotput (4 kgs in 3 Attempts): 12.5 ft

For Female candidates (Age above 40 years)

  • Time Duration for 1000m Race: 8½ minutes (Eight minutes thirty seconds)
  • Shotput (4 kgs in 3 Attempts): 10.5 ft

Medical Examination:

A Medical examination will be conducted for shortlisted candidates in order to determine their physical and medical fitness. JKSSB will undertake a medical exam in compliance with the rules before issuing the list of selected candidates.

Explanation I: For the purpose of this rule, the age of the Ex-Serviceman shall be his actual age.

Explanation II: All Ex-Servicemen must pass the written tests and fulfill the physical standards criteria apart from meeting the medical standards prescribed for direct recruits.
