The agreement involves supplying 300 MW Solar Power under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme in Rajasthan.

Securing Solar Project Capacity

NLCIL has successfully secured a significant 510 MW Solar Project capacity through the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-III by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) through a competitive bidding process. Additionally, a 300 MW Solar project is in active progress in Barsingsar, Bikaner District, Rajasthan. The esteemed EPC contract for this project has been awarded to M/s TATA Power Solar Systems through competitive bidding.

Solidifying Commitments

The pivotal Power Usage Agreement (PUA) for the 300 MW Solar project was formalized between NLC India Limited and Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) on August 17th, 2023, in Jaipur. The agreement spans 25 years and signifies the commitment to supply solar power to Rajasthan.

Contributions to Sustainable Progress

The project is anticipated to generate an impressive 750 million units of power annually, significantly contributing to the state’s energy needs. It is also expected to reduce carbon emissions by about 0.726 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, leaving a notable environmental impact. This expansion marks NLC India Limited’s growth in renewable energy capacity beyond its established presence in Tamil Nadu, setting a precedent for growth in other states as well.
