A Governing Body and Executive Committee have been put in place to oversee the center’s operations and activities.

The Atal Bihari Training Centre for Disability Sports operates with a set of clear-cut objectives:

  1. Establishment of a World-Class Center of Excellence: The primary mission is to create an international-level center of excellence for para sportspersons (Persons with Disabilities – PwDs) that adheres to accessibility standards.
  2. Specialized Sports Infrastructure: The facility offers specialized sports infrastructure, facilitating rigorous and tailor-made training for para sports individuals.
  3. Global Standards: The center is committed to delivering training facilities for Divyang sportspersons that meet or exceed international standards.
  4. Encouraging Participation: Its mandate includes encouraging greater participation by Divyangjan in sports activities, enabling them to compete effectively at international events.
  5. Confidence Building and Social Integration: A pivotal objective is to boost the confidence of Divyangjan and facilitate their seamless integration into society.

Budget and Location:

The Indian cabinet has allocated a budget of 151.16 crores for the establishment of the Atal Bihari Training Centre for Disability Sports. This technologically advanced facility is sprawled over an extensive 34-acre area, providing ample space for comprehensive training and development.
