Punjab Police SI Exam I- First Stage: 

CBT is the first stage of the selection process, consisting of two MCQs(Multiple Choice Questions) based papers. The question papers are set in two languages- Punjabi and English. 

Punjab Police SI Exam Syllabus

Paper 1 consists of three subjects: 

  • The first being General Awareness, where knowledge about the Indian Constitution and its features and many other aspects is tested. 
  • The second subject is Quantitative Aptitude and Numerical Skills, where your mathematical skills are evaluated. 
  • And the third subject is based on Punjabi language evaluating for knowledge about the language. 
  • The total duration for Paper 1 is 2 hours, with the total number of questions being 100, and a maximum of 400 marks are allocated.

Paper 2 is also based on three subjects: 

  • Logical and Analytical Reasoning and Data Interpretation includes puzzles, classification, data sufficiency, direction and distance, and much more. 
  • The second subject covered under the syllabus is Digital Literacy and Computer Awareness, covering IT-related concepts and computer-based information. 
  • The third subject is based on English, covering English language skills. 
  • This paper is also for 2 hours with 100 questions and a maximum of 400 marks allocation.

The test is conducted on computers, due to which the exam is likely to be conducted for different sets of candidates on different dates.

Punjab Police SI Admit Card

Marking system in CBT: 

The marking system consists of negative marking for wrong answers up to 25%(i.e., 1 mark) of the marks allocated to each question. 

Punjab Police SI Exam Guidelines – Stage I

Candidates appearing for the Punjab Police SI Exam must follow the instructions set by the recruitment board as the Punjab Police SI Guidelines to avoid being disqualified. The guidelines also instruct what can be done and what cannot be done and what items are restricted into the examination hall. Candidates are advised to thoroughly go through the guidelines.

Punjab Police SI Exam Guidelines – Stage II

The date, time, and center or venue for stage 2 tests are indicated in a separate admit card issued for the stage 2 selection process. The candidate should carry the hard copy admit card and identity proof to the venue to get entry.

List of the documents required to be carried at the venue:  

Candidates should carry the required certifications along with a self-attested  copy of each below-mentioned documents for verification: 

  • For proof of age, a Matriculation certificate.
  • Graduation degree certificate or equivalent. Additional Certificate for prescribed qualification required for applying for the Intelligence Officer post. 
  • Passing Punjab Matriculation level or equivalent proof. 
  • Reserved category certificate issued by the competent authority. 
  • Candidates serving the government should obtain NOC (No Objection Certificate)  from the Head of Department or Office concerned.

Only those candidates whose uploaded documents with application form harmonize with original extended on the venue during verification shall be eligible for PST.
