Success Story of Manish Kumar

Success Story of Manish Kumar – We are sharing Manish Kumar’s amazing success story with you, candidates. Manish Kumar successfully completed the IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk exam. He had self-confidence, put in a lot of effort, was consistent, and never gave up. I hope his story helps you in your preparation Journey.

Introduction

Born and brought up in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Completed my graduation in Civil Engineering in 2019 from KIIT University , Bhubaneshwar.

Manish Kumar Preparation Journey

Started preparing for bank exams in 2021. The first exam I appeared for was IBPS Clerk and I could not clear the prelims by 2 marks. So I changed my strategy for the upcoming IBPS PO and was able to clear the prelims. The thing I noticed about the pattern is that we have to be accurate and have a clear mind about which questions we are going to attempt first. So I gave the mains of IBPS PO but was not able to clear that last year by 0.25 marks. The same thing happened in SBI PO. So I sat down and jotted down all the things that I thought I was lacking to clear the banking exams.

Speed, Accuracy, and a lot of practice. I did all these in the next few months with the help of the Oliveboard Test series. I was able to clear the prelims of every exam in 2022-23 ( except RRB PO ). I have cleared both IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk and got my 1st preference in both of them. The secret is that there is no secret. Just practise mock tests and keep re-evaluating them, you will find your own mistakes and will be able to rectify them in the next mock. All the best!

Subject-wise Preparation Strategy

For the quant section, the priority should be on accuracy. I prioritise my time on solving DIs, equations, missing numbers, and misc questions. The mantra is practice, practice, and practice.

Reasoning – My main focus was on this subject. I solved many puzzles, different types of them, and from many sources. Starting from the basic ones, I made my way to solving CAT-level questions. ( though this is not necessary, mock tests of banking exams are sufficient ). Then I practised misc questions, family relations, coding-decoding, and all other topics by giving mocks only and sometimes sectional and subject tests. The focus should be on speed and accuracy both.

English – English was always my strong subject so I didn’t prepare for it separately. But the main focus should be on reading comprehension, parajumbles, and misc questions.

GK/GA – I only followed monthly bolt and youtube videos and made my own notes for the GA/GK.

Interview – I prepared for the interview by watching youtube videos and practising alone in my room. For current affairs, I read the news on the Internet.

Role of Oliveboard

Free Mock test

I gave all my mock tests for prelims and mains of all the banking exams that I appeared for and cleared on Oliveboard. The tests are as per the exam levels and definitely helped me in keeping my pace and preparation on track. Also, the free videos on youtube helped me a lot during my Interview preparation.
