Success Story of Meghna Sheoran – Cleared IBPS PO 2018

All about Meghna’s journey:

Hello everyone, I am Meghna Sheoran. I started preparation for bank exams in July 2018 and I was able to clear SBI PO Prelims, RBI Grade B phase 1 in short span of time. But due to some wrong strategy could not make to the final stages of these exams. But that success boosted a lot confidence in me.

Then I started preparing for IBPS PO and finally got Canara Bank. People used to say it takes a lot of time to clear these exams. But believe me this is wrong. With a proper strategy these exams can be cleared in a short span of time. I cleared these without any formal coaching. I attended only mock test that too online. 

Subject wise strategy:

Quantitative Aptitude: Clear your concepts from some online videos. I referred few online videos to clear my concepts and then  practiced Level 1 from Quantum CAT by Sarvesh Verma.Once my basics were clear then my only concentration was giving good number of mock tests. Attempting mock tests helped me a lot in tracking my performance on a regular basis.

Reasoning: For this section all I want to say is to solve at least 2 high level puzzles daily. I followed a few online youtube videos to learn the right strategy and approach towards solving a puzzle. Remember solving puzzles can be tricky and time taking if you do not know the right approach.

English: I did not follow any formal book for this section. I read Hindu Editorials and The Economist (some selected articles). If your basics are not clear then you should first refer some books along with reading newspapers.

Current Affairs: This is one section where one can score high marks with little practice. I solved daily quizzes from various websites after reading their articles. And it is like if you won’t revise you will forget. So once in a week I used to solve previous quizzes again.

For Essay writing and Letter writing I followed Oliveboard and Affairscloud. Stick to the word limit and format. Write in a simple language . One can easily score 85 % marks in this section.

Role of Oliveboard:

Thanks to Oliveboard for helping me in my preparation as all I referred is the online materials for my preparation. I subscribed to their test series for each exam and their mocks are upto the level so that when one sits in real exam he doesn’t feel panic by seeing the level of real exam.

Give one mock daily and don’t skip the mock. Also give sectional test after preparing each topic. During exam stay calm and patient  as all matters is one’s performance on that day. All the best. Stay positive.So never lose patience and hope. If you can manage to keep yourself dedicated then half your work is already sorted.
