WWF-India and MoEF&CC Unite for Wildlife Week Awareness

Promoting Wildlife Week Awareness

From October 2nd to 8th, WWF-India and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) joined forces to spread awareness during Wildlife Week as part of Mission LiFE. Their primary goal was to underline the significance of wildlife conservation and its role in addressing climate change, particularly among students from various schools in Delhi. The theme for this year’s week was “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation.”

Programme Centre’s Essential Role: Wildlife Week

WWF-India and MoEF&CC have established a Programme Centre with a vital mission – Wildlife Conservation using geospatial techniques. Known as EIACP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building, and Livelihood Programme), this center operates as a resource partner within WWF-India. Its core duty is to gather, organize, store, retrieve, and share information to support research, development, and innovation. This information is a valuable resource for decision-makers, researchers, educators, policy planners, and all stakeholders invested in this conservation.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Throughout this Week, students from diverse schools in Delhi participated in informative sessions about the week’s significance and the theme, “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation.” WWF-India’s team conveyed their message through a 12-minute documentary, capturing the attention of both students and teachers. The impact was substantial, as the young audience exhibited a strong interest in delving deeper into this conservation and embracing eco-friendly lifestyle changes to combat climate change. A total of approximately 864 individuals took part in these enlightening activities.

Nurturing Future Conservation Advocates

The collaboration between WWF-India and MoEF&CC during this Week stands as a testament to their shared commitment to environmental education and their dedication to nurturing a new generation of advocates for wildlife and climate conservation. Initiatives like these are essential for inspiring young minds to protect our planet and ensure a harmonious coexistence with the natural world.

Empowering Future Stewards

By coming together during Wildlife Week, WWF-India and MoEF&CC are not only sowing the seeds of environmental awareness but also empowering the leaders of tomorrow. They’re nurturing a generation of individuals who understand the importance of wildlife and climate conservation, instilling in them the knowledge and passion needed to protect our planet for years to come. Through education and collaboration, they’re creating a brighter and more sustainable future.
