SBI Apprentice Selection Process Stages

Candidates must qualify each stage to move forward in the recruitment process. The SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Online Written Examination
  2. Test of Local Language
  3. Medical Examination

SBI Apprentice Selection Process 2026 Online Test

The first stage of the SBI apprentice selection process is the online written examination. The test will be conducted in online mode and will consist of objective-type questions.

  • The examination will have sectional timing of 15 minutes for each section.
  • There will be negative marking in the exam.
  • 1/4th marks assigned to the question will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • There are no sectional qualifying marks.
  • Candidates need to score minimum qualifying marks in aggregate.
  • SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates will get 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks.
  • Merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise.
  • In case of tie marks, older candidates will be ranked higher.

SBI Apprentice Selection Process 2026 – Local Language Test

Candidates who qualify the online examination will have to appear for the Local Language Test. The candidate must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of the state applied for.

  • The language test is mandatory for candidates who do not have proof of studying the local language in Class 10th or 12th.
  • Candidates producing 10th or 12th mark sheet/certificate showing the selected local language will be exempted from the language test.
  • The local language test will be conducted after the online examination.
  • Candidates failing the language test will not be engaged as apprentices.
  • Candidates must appear for the language test at their own expense.
  • The test centre for the language test will be decided by SBI.
