Bihar Judiciary Eligibility

There are several conditions a candidate needs to meet to fulfil the Bihar Judiciary Eligibility criteria. 

  • NATIONALITY- Candidates should be a citizen of India. Candidates from all states can apply for the Bihar Judicial Services Examination.
  • AGE LIMIT- Candidates’ age should be of minimum 22 years on the day of application submission. Though the upper limit of the candidate’s age may vary, the minimum age limit is the same for all the candidates. However, there are a few upper age relaxations given to some candidates. They are according to the following categories:

  • Educational Qualification– Candidates should have a graduate degree in law or an equivalent qualification. The degree must be from a college/ university accredited by the Bar Council of India.

All the candidates who meet the conditions mentioned above can fill their applications without any worry and appear for the preliminary examination.

Selection Process

BPSC Judicial Service Examination is held every year by Bihar Public Service Commission to select Civil Judges in Bihar courts. Currently, the candidates are preparing for the 32nd Bihar Judicial Services Examination in 2022. All the candidates who meet the Bihar Judiciary Eligibility condition will be allowed to take the said exam. 

The Bihar judicial services examination is held in the following three stages:

  • STAGE I- Preliminary Exam– (Objective type).
  • STAGE II- Mains Exam– (Written)
  • STAGE III- Interview

Bihar Judiciary Eligibility For The Reserved Categories

  • The benefits of reservation, based on caste, are only eligible for the natives of Bihar.
  • To be eligible as an SC/ST candidate or an OBC candidate, the candidate must submit a caste certificate and a domicile certificate under the reservation category.
  • To be eligible as a disabled candidate, the candidate must attach a disability certificate issued by a competent authority to get an age relaxation and other benefits.

Number Of Attempts Per Candidate

The candidates are eligible to attempt the Bihar judicial services examination as many times as they wish. They need to be below the upper age limit to meet the Bihar Judiciary Eligibility
