• ISRO is planning to launch a satellite called ‘Aditya’ to study the Sun. Aditya L-1 project will enable a comprehensive understanding of the dynamical processes of the sun & address some of the outstanding problems in solar physics.
• Hemant Soren took oath as the 11th Chief Minister of Jharkhand. He is the representative of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party and this will be his second stint as the CM.
• The government has amended rules putting the maximum age limit of 65 years for the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to serve in the post. The changes have been made in the Army Rules, 1954.
• Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik launched the e-certificate project for the Revenue and Disaster Management department that enables people to apply for their official documents without visiting government offices.
• Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation has constituted a 28 member standing committee on Statistics (SCEC) chaired by Former Chief Statistician Pronab Sen to improve quality of data amid criticism of the govt. over political interference.

• Russia’s 1st regiment of Avangard hypersonic missiles has been launched. On Nov 26 Russia allowed the US to inspect the missile under the 2010 New START treaty rules.
• The Long March-5 rocket, China’s largest carrier rocket, was successfully launched from South China’s Hainan Province. It carried the Shijan-20 technological experiment satellite.
• China will revise its regional GDP data under a unified accounting mechanism. The Chinese economy grew at an annual pace of 6.0% in the July-September quarter, the slowest growth since 1992.

• In Golf, Udayan Mane produced a flawless seven-under 65 on the final day to claim a thrilling one-shot win at the season-ending TATA Steel Tour Championship in Jamshedpur.
• Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and official of Khelo India Youth Games launched the torch relay of the competition in Guwahati on Sunday. The tournament will be held between 10 January 2020 to 22 January 2020.
